CAG report tabled in Gujarat assembly: 54 PSUs make Rs 3648 crore profit, 14 others make Rs 18,412 crore loss with gigantic share of GSPC

Gandhinagar: Out of 77 active public sector enterprises of Gujarat government, 54 have earned Rs 3647.96 crore profit while 14 have made Rs 18,412.39 crore loss as per the report of Comptroller and Auditor General(CAG) for year 2016-17 tabled today, on the last day of two-day long Gujarat Assembly session.
Among profit making PSUs, Gujarat Petronet Ltd earned Rs 737.79 crore profit, Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation(GMDC) made Rs 445.98 crore profit, Gujarat Gas Ltd made Rs 303.33 crore profit, Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation(GIDC) made Rs 293.98 crore profit while Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation made Rs 284.79 crore profit.
Among 14 loss making PSUs, Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation(GSPC) has made Rs 17,061.20 crore loss while Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam has made Rs 973.50 crore loss. Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation(GSRTC) has made Rs 184.45 crore loss while Gujarat State Finance Corporation has made Rs 117.18 crore loss. Out of 77 PSUs, 11 active ones eroded their net worth.
