ACB nabs Sarpanch taking bribe in North Gujarat, Deputy Sarpach also caught in South

Gandhinagar: The Anti Corruption Bureau of Gujarat police today nabbed a Sarpanch and a Deputy Sarpanch from different places for taking bribe.
ACB Assistant Director D P Chudasama today said that in the first trap Sarpanch of Saira village panchayat of Modasa taluka in Aravalli district of North Gujarat, Dhirajkumar S Sutaria was arrested red handed from the roadside near the Modasa taluka panchayat office taking a bribe of Rs 20000/-. He had asked for Rs 40 thousand bribe from the complainant for passage of a resolution regarding construction of a pond on the government land beside the agricultural land of the complainant.
In another trap in Vapi town of Valsad district in South Gujarat, the deputy Sarpanch of Kikarla gram panchayat in Pardi taluka of the district, Alpesh K Rathod was nabbed taking a bribe of Rs 11000 from the complainant near Gol coin circle. He had already taken Rs 2 thousand from the complainant for issuance of no objection certificate for his cottage industry.
