Vadodara:
BJP MLA Madhu Srivastava today openly came out against ‘paid-garba’ events during Navratri in Vadodara and elsewhere in Gujarat terming it a kind of ‘loot’ in the name of mother goddess.
Srivastava, the six term MLA from Vaghodia, told newsmen that he would take up this issue to the state government and if the need be also start agitation in Gandhian way against it.
‘How can anyone charge money from someone especially the woman folk for doing Garba during Navratri. Can we allow any one to use our most revered and loved festival and Garbha to shamelessly make money,’ he said.
Notably many outfits and persons organize Garba during Navaratri with paid entry. Voices against this type of events are also raised from time to time.
