September 26, 2018
Rajpipala: SP of Narmada district in Central Gujarat Mahendrasinh Bagadia has sent a circular to all the police stations and other wings of police which mentions a suspected nexus between bootleggers and police personnel.
The circular also says that the call details of various police officials and personnel were being scrutinized to find out any possible nexus between them and bootleggers against whom police seemingly do not take any action.
He has written that action would be taken against the police personnel/officials whose call details confirmed their contacts with bootleggers.
He has also lamented that police was not taking action against the illegal liquor business runners and that even the school boys were being used by such unscrupulous people for smuggling of liquor in their school bags.
Notably, Gujarat is a dry state (where liquor is banned) since its inception and it has made even stricter its anti-liquor law.
