Gujarat Chief Minister on two-day visit to Uttar Pradesh

Gandhinagar: During his meeting with Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the government of Uttar Pradesh will send a team to Gujarat to search out possibilities for cooperation of Gujarat to build a grand idol of Bhagwan Ram in Uttar Pradesh. Yogi Adityanath said the experience of Gujarat in construction of world’s tallest statue dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel could be useful for Uttar Pradesh.

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani is on two-day visit to Uttar Pradesh(UP) starting from last evening.

Addressing a joint press conference, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said if Sardar Patel was not there, the map of India could be different. His statue which is the tallest statue of the world will symbolise unity of India.

Rupani said entire month of November will be full of visit by dignitaries from various states to Statue of Unity. President and Vice President of India are also invited to visit the place.

Rupani said attraction of valley of flowers, residual facility of tent city with 350 tents, three-star stay facility Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Bhavan that has 52 rooms, a museum, digital wall showcasing signatures of villagers from across India, their contribution to the statue in form of mitti and water, tribal market, spots for tribal dance performances have been created along with the Statue of Unity.

Rupani said two high-speed lifts will bring 50 persons to gallery portion of Statue of Unity to enjoy view from above.

Rupani said the government will give land for construction of State bhavans near Statue of Unity. He said he was happy that the first proposal for bhavan came from Uttar Pradesh.

Speaking on this occasion, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, Uttar Pradesh Awas Paryatan Gruh had requested for land allocation near Statue of Unity and the request has been granted. A facility will be created near Statue of Unity so that visitors from Uttar Pradesh can stay there. Yogi said, a delegation from Uttar Pradesh will visit the Statue of Unity in first week of November.

Earlier, on Rupani’s arrival, counterpart Yogi Adityanath hosted a dinner at his residence for Rupani and delegation in presence of UP Dy CM Dinesh Sharma, UP ministers and senior UP officials. Rupani is joined by MoS Raman Patkar, MP Devusinh, MLAs Vallabh Kakadia, Ketan Inamdar, Virendrasin Jadeja, Babu Bokhiria and senior govt. officials including Harit Shukla.

Rupani met UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today morning and invited him to attend the inaugural function of Statue of Unity scheduled on 31st of October near Sardar Sarovar dam site in Central Gujarat. Rupani had lunch at Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma’s residence. Sharma was Gujarat BJP incharge before he became Deputy Chief Minister.

Statue of Unity is world’s tallest statue it is dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Prime Minister Narendra Modi who conceived this project as Gujarat Chief Minister is going to inaugurate the statue. Various delegations from Gujarat led by ministers, deputy minister and joined by MLAs and MPs are visiting State capitals to invite the Chief Ministers to inaugural function. They also hold press conferences and meet Governors. Yesterday, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel invited Maharashtra Chief Minister to the function in Mumbai. Last week, Minister of State for Home had visited Himachal Pradesh while Agriculture Minister RC Faldu visited Assam.

On visit to Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani is also scheduled to address Ekta Samvad public meeting jointly with Uttar Pradesh counterpart Yogi Adityanath. Rupani will hold interaction with people from Gujarati community in Lucknow.

Rupani will return to Gandhinagar on Monday evening.

Rupani’s visit is important as he will have an opportunity to clear the air regarding recent incidents in six districts of Gujarat in which non-Gujarati immigrants mainly from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar were targeted following Congress leader Alpesh Thakor led Thakor Sena agitation.
