CM reviews last stage preparations made for dedication of ‘Statue of Unity’ to people

Narmada: On the auspicious day of ‘Vijayadashami Festival’ today Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani, along with Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Nitinbhai Patel,reviewed the last stage preparations being made for dedication of the world’s tallest statue ‘Statue of Unity’ of ‘Iron Man of India’ Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, popularly known Sardar Saheb at Kevadia Colony, Sardar Sarovar Dam to people. He also reviewed the other attractions being developed at spot.

The Chief Minister said that the ‘Statue of Unity’ would be dedicated to the people of country by Prime Minister Mr. Narendrabhai Modi on ‘Sardar Jayanti’ on October 31st. The event is going to fulfill the pledge of Mr. Modi to build a memorial of Sardar Patel that fits his great personality.

Rupani said that 31st October is going to be an important day of the Indian history. The place would become a unique tourist spot.

The other attractions included Valley of Flower spread over 17 km long stretch covering 230 hectare of land, the soils for it has been brought various villages spread across every nook and corners of India, followed by Tent City, Sight of ‘One India (Ek Bharat, Best India’ Shresth Bharat), Food Court, Sardar Patel Memoria Museum, Visitors’ Center, and others. Beside these, ‘Sadhu Bet’, which is developed 3 km away from there, was also reviewed by the Chief Minister.

After reviewing the preparations in details, Mr. Rupani had held a review meeting at Kevadia Colony to give necessary instructions. He said it is expected to have heavy rush of touristsafter November 10 as Diwali festival begins then.

As a part of this mega event, Mr. Rupani will flag-off ‘Ekta Rath Yatra’ from Sugar Factory Compound at Bardoli on October 19 (tomorrow) at 10.30 a.m. Later, under the ‘Suryashakti Kishan Yojna’ Chief Minister is also going to inaugurate three feeders with capacity of 11KV at Khali, Nanifali and Khanpur.

Rupani was also accompanied by Chief Secretary Dr. J. N. Singh, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief MinisterK. Kailashnathan, Principal Secretary (Panchayat and Water Resources Department, Gujarat) A. K. Rakesh, and Technical Director of Nigam Nagpara, District Collector R. S. Ninama, District Development Officer Dr. Jincy Williams, and others.
