ACB nabs official in North Gujarat for taking bribe for sanction of house under PM housing scheme

Palanpur:The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat police today nabbed a class-3 extension officer of Taluka Panchayat office in Dhanera town of Banaskantha district in North Gujarat taking bribe of Rs 7000 red handed from a person for sanction of his application for a house under PM Housing scheme.
ACB Assistant Director D P Chudasama said that Extension Officer Suresh I Patel was nabbed red handed.
‘The complainant had filled up the form for availing a house under the scheme and handed it over to the EO almost two months ago with relevant documents. But instead of sanctioning it, he kept lingering the matter and later sought bribe. On the basis of complaint a trap was laid and the officer was nabbed red handed today,’ he said.
