ACB nabs driver of Mamlatdar taking Rs 7 lakh bribe on behalf of him in Surat, Asst. MVI also nabbed in Dahod

Ahmedabad/Surat: The Anti Corruption Bureau of Gujarat police today nabbed the driver of a Mamlatdar in Surat city for taking a bribe of Rs 7 lakh on his behalf.

The ACB was conducting searches of arrest of the Mamlatdar who has gone underground.

In yet another incident the ACB nabbed an Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector from Jhalod check-post in Dahod district.

Assistant Director of ACB, D P Chudasama said that Driver of Mamlatdar of Majura in Surat Rajendra Kumar F Chaudhary had demanded a bribe of Rs 7 lakh from the complainant for correction in his land record. His driver Naresh B Khatik was today caught red handed from his office premises in Athwalines in Surat taking the bribe red handed. the Mamlatdar has fled and attempts to nab him were on.

Chudasama also said that Assistant MVI Gopal J Buddhdev and a computer operator at Jhalod RTO checkpost have been arrested for taking Rs 500 from over loaded vehicles.
