Gandhinagar: Ruling BJP has said that the sequence of events with regard to the opposition of the statue of unity project clearly indicates a pre-planned conspiracy of Congress.

The party also alleged that the protests and incidents of damage of hoardings etc pertaining to the grand and prestigious project which has made all the Indians pride was also a handiwork of Congress and its puppets.

Party spokesperson Bharat Pandya said, ‘Congress never respected Sardar Patel and now when his statue is to be dedicated to the nation, its jealousy has come to fore. It also does not want the credit of completion of this colossal project which has made India proud, go to Modi ji.’

‘All those opposing the project including Bhartiya Tribal Party were just puppets of Congress which has pre-planned it all. If you see the sequence of events it would become pretty clear. First of all Rahul Gandhi created ‘Made-in-China’ controversy about it by questioning the use of a little amount of Chinese material in it, then party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala raised issues. After him leader of opposition in Gujarat Assembly and Congress MLA Paresh Dhanani and party president Amit Chavda took it up. Then former CM Suresh Mehta of Rashtra Manch raised it and after him Chhotu Vasava, an aide of Congress is crying foul.,’ he said.

‘Congress first tried caste politics in Gujarat through PAAS leader Hardik Patel during whose recent fast, party MLA Alpesh Thakor announced his agitation that incited sentiments of regionalism. 70 leaders of Congress were booked for recent attack on Non-Gujaratis but Congress did not take action against even one of them. After that now the party was out to oppose the statue of unity project with another ill-intention. It knew that after its inauguration and development lakhs of tourists will come to that tribal area which would result in creation of large number of employment opportunities . But Congress somehow want to hamper it so that it could continue on with its baseless allegations about lack of employment opportunities,’ he said.

Notably, PM Modi will unveil the 182 meter high statue of Sardar Patel erected on the Sadhu island in river Narmada near Kevadiya tomorrow. It will become the tallest statue in the world leaving behind 153 meter high Spring Field Buddha of China.
