Ahmedabad: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat police today nabbed red handed the Chief officer and the Town Planner cum city engineer of Himmatnagar municipality from different places in Ahmedabad taking bribe of Rs 2.46 lakh and 1.23 lakh respectively from the owner of a construction firm.

Assistant Director of ACB D P Chudasama said that they had demanded 2% and 1% of a bill of Rs 1.23 crores from the firm owner for passing it. He had got the work of the the renovation and upgradation of the town hall in Himmatnagar last year by giving the lowest bid of 4.47 crore during the tender.

Chief officer himmatnagar Nagarpalika Ashishkumar A Darji was caught taking bribe of Rs 2.46 lakh from his car in front of the gate of Nirma university on S G highway here. He is resident of Shreeji Residency in Chandlodiya.

Townplaner cun city engineer Jigneshkumar G Gaur, who lives in nearby Ghatlodia area in Ahmedabad was nabbed from Thaltej area in the city.
