Gujarat CM to open new APMC yard at Sutrapada, address farmers’ rally

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will inaugurate the Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) yard at Sutrapada in Gir-Somnath District built under the Gujarat Government’s Kalpvriksha Yojna and Central Government’s Rashtriya Krishi Vika Yojna at a cost of Rs.8.62-crore on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 11.00 am. He will address a famers’ rally on the occasion.
The new APMC yard will cover 48 villages in the Sutrapada taluka. It will help farmers sell their products nearer to their field. The State Government extends various assistances to APMC under Kalpavriksha Yojna, having disbursed Rs.241-crore to 209 APMCs so far.
The function will be attended by Agriculture Minister R.C. Faldu, District In-charge and Food & Civil Supplies Minister Jayesh Radadiya and Member of Parliament Rajesg Chudasma, among others.
At present, there are 224 APMC yards and 176 sub-yards in the state, including 45 in tribal areas.
