Rajkot: A person on Sunday died due to faulty lift in government built Narmad Aawas Yojana at Gondal road, his relatives alleged.

Victim Hasmukh Nagar from Jetpur was on fifth floor when he pushed button to call lift at around 6 am in Narmad Aawas Yojana building. His relatives allege that though display board showed that lift was on fifth floor, the lift was actually on the ground floor. Hasmukhbhai putting trust in display board, thought lift had arrived on fifth floor. He opened the door of lift passage and felled down as soon as he entered inside the space and died on the spot.

Hasmukhbhai was a guest visiting his relatives who live in fifth floor flat. Dilip Kareliya, relatives of victim Hasmukhbhai allege that complains regarding technical errors in lift and lack of maintenance were made for number of times.
