Father, son from Vadodara arrested in Saudi Arabia for displaying Indian flag, released after timely intervention by Govt of India

Vadodara: Imtiyaz Ali Syed from Vadodara, Gujarat and his son Uzair Ali, on visit to Saudi Arabia for Umrah were detained by Saudi Police for displaying Indian tricolour at Makkah. They were later released thanks to timely intervention of Government of India through Indian embassy in Jeddah.
Both father son were detained in Haram area where display of flags is banned. With immediate and timely intervention in court proceeding, Imtiaz arrested in Makkah was released. Earlier his son was also released.
Indian embassy in Jeddah has thanked local government officials for support and appealed all Indian on Haj and Umrah pilgrimage not to display flags as it is banned in Haram area.
