Crime Branch of Ahmedabad police nabs big Charas supplier from Kashmir, was wanted in seizure of over Rs 3 crore worth of Charas

Ahmedabad: The Crime Branch of Ahmedabad police has nabbed a big Charas supplier from Kashmir who was also wanted in two cases of recovery of Charas worth more than Rs 3 crore in Ahmedabad in September this year.
DCP crime branch, Dipen Bhadran said that Mohamed Ashraf Ghulam Rasool Reshi (40), has been nabbed from village Malhura his home district Shopian in J&K with the assistance of the local police and brought here for further interrogation.
He was the main supplier of around 22 kg (21.935 kg to be precise worth Rs 3.29 crores in the International market) Kashimiri charas nabbed from two carriers in Ahmedabad the on September 22 this year.
DCP Bhadran said that the Narcotics Control Bureau here has also lodged cases against him and apart from that he was also wanted in a case lodged by the special operation group (SOG) of Gandhinagar police.
Ashraf was involved in supplying Charas to Rajasthan, Mahrashtra and other states also. Earlier in 2002 also he was nabbed here in connection with a similar case and was lodged in Sabarmati Central jail for 4 years. The detailed investigation and interrogation was on.
