Congress candidate in RMC by-poll joins BJP; by-poll was necessitated as then Congress councillor joined BJP

Rajkot: In a small yet symbolically significant jolt to Congress in Gujarat, a party candidate for a by-election for Rrajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) the declared party candidate today withdrew his name and joined BJP.
What is more embarrassing for the main opposition party was that the by-election in the ward number 13 of RMC was necessitated due to earlier party corporator Nitin Ramani’s joining BJP.
Congress had declared Narsinh Patoliya as its candidate for the by-election on the seat in the home-city of CM Vijay Rupani. On the last day for withdrawal of candidature Patoliya did so and went on to the BJP office here to join the ruling party.
