No Non-Veg zone declared around 500-metre of Ambaji Shaktipith and Somnath Jyotirling

Palanpur: Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today speaking here announced that 500-metre area around Ambaji Shaktipith temple and Somnath Jyotirling temple as ‘No Non-Veg Zone’, with ban of non-vegetarian.

He said the government decided to start development works worth Rs.338-crore for Banaskantha district for drinking water, stairway leading up to the Ambaji temple, skywalk, two-way ropeway, toilets, CCTV cameras, public address system, dining hall for 2,000 at a time, new Prasad grih, rooftop solar panels, electrification, seven new secondary schools, canals, dams, etc. Banaskantha district leads in drip irrigation in India, besides implementation of Green Revolution and White Revolution. He listed assistance for each cattle head in 96 drought-hit talukas of the state increased from Rs.25 to Rs.35,

Rupani described Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 10 per cent quota for Unreserved Economically Weaker Sections earning up to Rs.8-lakh per year as a farsighted decision. Modi showcased Gujarat as the Role Model of Development. He exuded confidence that India will become Vishwa Guru.

He gave a new slogan ‘Live for Nation’ in Independent India in the backdrop of ‘Die for Nation’ during India’s freedom struggle.

Rupani released a coffee table book titled ‘Bemisal Banaskantha’ and Vikas Vatika prepared by the State Information Department.

Speaking at a mega cultural function organized on the occasion, Governor Kohli said it was the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s idea when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat to hold state-level functions in different district places by rotation to involve people’s participation in national and state festivals. It is an occasion to renew pledge to build a New India as per the dream of the Prime Minister. This is an auspicious occasion to recognize and reward meritorious people for their significant contribution to the state and society.

Kohli said that Gujarat leads in the Happiness Index in India, thanks to its significant march in all round development. He said that Banaskantha district has topped in animal husbandry and agricultural parameters in the country.
