8th annual conference of International Association of Police Academies to be held at GFSU

Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will inaugurate the 8th annual International Association of Police Academies (INTERPA) at the Gujarat Forensic Science University (GFSU) auditorium here on February 11, 2019. INTERPA President YilmizKolak will deliver the keynote address.

Nearly 100 senior police officers of 36 countries are participating in the three-day conference on the theme of ‘Cyber security and combating cybercrime’. It will be attended by senior officers of police academies and training institutes to discuss crime scene investigation, digital evidence, hate crime on cyber space, synergistic effect on technology and modern methods in combating crime, tackling disturbing information on social media, etc.

Uzbekistan Academy of Ministry of Interior, Mongolia’s Law Enforcement University and Republic of Kazakhstan and Karaganda Academy Ministry of Internal Affairs will ink MoUs with GFSU during the conference.

GFSU is among the 72 members of the INTERPA, set up on July 2, 2011 at Istanbul for providing a platform for communication and collaboration at international level.

GFSU with training facilities has in a short span earned global reputation in strengthening the criminal justice delivery system in collaboration with INTERPA and other organizations.

INTERPA had held its earlier annaul conferences in Antalya-Turkey, Riyadh-Saudi Arabia, Kuala Lumpur-Malaysia, Abu Dhabi-UAE, Khartoum-Sudan, Qatar and Northern Cyprus.
