Amreli: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat police today nabbed a woman ASI posted in Vanda police station in Savarkundala Taluka of Amreli district in Gujarat taking an Air Conditioner (AC) as bribe from an accused in a case pertaining to alleged abatement of suicide.

ACB Assistant Director Gambhisinh Padheriya said that ASI Chetna M Kansagara (40) was nabbed during a trap of the ACB from her residence in police lines in Savarkundala.

She had earlier taken Rs 75000 in cash from the accused at the time of his surrender for not seeking remand and was repeatedly demanding an AC for helping him further in the case lodged under section 306 of the IPC.

Based on the secret complaint by the accused the ACB today laid a trap and arrested her when she was taking the delivery of the AC and also recovered its bill made in the name of the complainant on which the price of Japan’s Mitsui company make AC was mentioned as Rs 27000.
