14 including 4 fire-tenders of AMC sustain burn injury in cylinder caused fire in old Ahmedabad city

Ahmedabad:At least 14 persons including 4 fire-tenders of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) sustained burn injuries today when a fire broke out in Shahpur area of the city due to leakage in gas cylinder.
Chief fire officer of AMC M Dastur said that the incident took place near Balaji temple close to the police outpost at Shahpur crossing. Gas leaked from a cylinder kept outside. When the fire tenders arrived there a fire suddenly broke out.
The fire was somehow controlled but at least 14 people including 4 firemen had sustained burn injuries. They all have been admitted to the VS hospital here. The situation of four of them including a fireman was said to be serious.
Mayor Bijalben Patel visited the hospital.
