Gujarat govt. forms Transgender Welfare Board on direction of Supreme Court

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat today announced formation of Transgender Welfare Board. The board will have 16 members including transgender women, transgender male, two representatives from NGOs and two members of third sex.
The decision has been taken as per direction of Supreme Court. The board according to State government note has been formed with effect of 15 February.
The board will be chaired by minister of social justice and empowerment department.
The board will meet once in six months.
