Loss making GSRTC staff on mass leave seeking pay hike as per 7th pay commission

Ahmedabad: Over 40,000 employees of loss making Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) are on mass casual leave today, seeking solution to their long pending demands, including the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations. The agitation has resulted into disruption in service since midnight.
Various unions of GSRTC have joined hand to form a coordination committee to press for solution before Lok Sabha elections are announced and model code of conduct is effective. GSRTC has around 45,000 employees. Of them 43,000 applied for leave to make mass leave agitation successful, claims one of union leaders.
