Untimely heat-wave in parts of Gujarat, likely to continue tomorrow as well

Gandhinagar: Even before the end of March, Gujarat is seeing summer like temperatures for the past few days and today parts of the western state also witnessed heat-wave conditions.

Mahuva in Bhavnagar recorded highest maximum temperature of almost 41 °C while Amreli also saw the mercury reach 40 °C. Most of the places saw above 37 °C temperatures.

The met department has predicted heat wave for parts of the state for tomorrow also and a rise of 2 to 3 °C in the maximum temperatures in next couple of days.

Heat wave conditions were felt in parts of PORBANDAR, GIR SOMNATH, SURENDRANAGAR, BHAVNAGAR AND KUTCH in Saurrashtra region and also in SURAT and VALSAD in South Gujarat. It is likely to exist tomorrow also at the same places.

In Ahmedabad the maximum temperature at 37.9°C today was 1.2 °C above normal. Tomorrow it is likely to rise further.
