IT raids: Kamal Nath’s nephew, close aides under scanner

Bhopal: The Income Tax department is conducting widespread raids since Sunday morning across India with regards, said media reports quoting sources.

The raids which began at 3:00 am are being done in 50 locations in Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi.Among those who under the I-T scanner in the raids are Madhya Pradesh CM’s nephew Ratul Puri and the Congress leader’s close aides.

The I-T officials raided Ratul Puri’s residence. Sources said that they are also conducting raids at the residences of Kamal Nath’s Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Praveen Kakkar in Indore and Bhopal. As per sources, they have found Rs 9 crore during the raids.Another OSD Rajender Mighlani is also being raided by the IT officials at Green Park residence in South Delhi,Both Kakkar and Miglani had resigned from their posts just before the Lok Sabha polls were declared.

Another aide of Kamal Nath, Prateek Joshi was also raided by the I-T. Puri put out a statement saying that he would cooperate with the investigation and added that he has no connection with defence or the Agusta Westland deal.

“I will cooperate with the investigation, I have no connection with defence or Agusta Westland deals. I don’t know what Rajiv Saxena has said. The ED is conducting its investigation,” he said.

Kamal Nath has said that he will wait for the investigation in the case to end.
