Met extends non-seasonal rain warning for one more day, includes more places too

Ahmedabad: The met department today extended its non-seasonal rain/thunderstorm warning in Gujarat even as temperatures continued to slide marginally with Ahmedabad remaining hottest at a moderate maximum of 41.3 °C .

The maximum temperature in Ahmedabad which was highest across the state today was slightly (0.1 °C ) below normal. The minimum at 25.8°C was also almost half a notch below normal.

The met department had earlier issued light rain warning for May 10 and 11 but in its latest bulletin today it has extended it for May 12 also. It has also included new areas in the warning.

Met weather warning is as following –

May 10: Light to Moderate rain, Thunderstorm and lightning accompanied with gusty winds (30-40 kmph) very likely at isolated places in the districts of North Gujarat region namely Banaskantha; in the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch namely Rajkot and Kutch

May 11: Light to Moderate rain, Thunderstorm and lightning accompanied with gusty winds (30-40 kmph) very likely at isolated places in the districts of North Gujarat region namely Banaskantha, Patan; in the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch namely Rajkot, Amreli and Kutch.

May 12: Light to Moderate rain, Thunderstorm and lightning accompanied with gusty winds (30-40 kmph) very likely at isolated places in the districts of North Gujarat region namely Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Aravalli; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Amreli , Surendranagar.
