71.90% pass GSEB class 12 science exam, a percent less than last year

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) today declared its results of class 12 Science stream exam held in March this year with an overall pass percentage of 71.90% which was almost a percent less than 72.99% of last year.

Girl students with 72.01% ( last year 74.91% ) of pass percentage have out-shined boys who have71.83% (last year 71.84%) pass percentage.

Rajkot district has again become the district with best results with n84.47% (last year 85.03%) while Chhota Udepur was at the lowest rung again in this regard with just 29.81% (last year 35.64%). Center-wise Dhrol has again topped in percentage again with 91.60% while Bodeli has become the worst performing center with mere 27.19%.

The pass percentage for English medium was 75.13% (last year 75.58%) while that for Gujarat medium was 71.09% (last year 72.45%).

Board Chairman A J Shah said that of the total 1,23,860 regular candidates appearing in the exam 89060 have passed.

254 (last year 136) have passed with A1 grade while 3690 (last year 2838) with A 2 grade.

The overall results have gone down for the second consecutive year as the pass percentage the year before ie in 2017 was much higher at 81.89%.

Notably, the result of GUJCET 2019 organized in April this year for admission to engineering and degree/diploma pharmacy courses in Gujarat state has also been declared today.

Shah said that the results would be distributed at various centers made for the purpose across the state from 1000 hrs to 1600 hrs today. The results have also been put on the board’s web site www.gseb.org for viewing online.
