Non seasonal rain /thunderstorm in North Gujarat

Gandhinagar: Some places in Banaskantha, Sabarkantha and Aravalli districts have seen non-seasonal rain/thunderstorm late last night and in the morning today.
The met department had predicted this kind of weather activity under the influence of an upper air cyclonic circulation lying 2 to 3 km above sea level over south western Rajasthan and adjoining areas in North Gujarat.
Among the areas that saw rain/thunderstorm included the temple town of Ambaji in Banaskantha district, Idar, Vadali, Khedbrahma and Vijayanagar in Sabarkantha and places in Aravalli district including Bhiloda, Vashera, Rakampa and those in Meghraj taluka. At some places tree fell due to strong winds.
The state disaster management department had issued advisory in the wake of the non seasonal rain and possibility of hailstorms. The market yards have been advised to take precautions about the Agriproduces kept in open.
