73.27% result in Gujarat Board class 12 general stream exam, more than 4% better than last year

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) today declared its results of class 12 general stream exam held in March this year with an overall pass percentage of 73.27% which was more than 4 percent better than 68.96% of last year.

Girl students with 79.27% of pass percentage have out-shined boys who have just 67.94% pass percentage.

Patan has become the district with best results with 85.03% while Panchmahal was at the lowest rung in this regard with just 45.82%. Center-wise Navrangpura in Ahmedabad has topped in percentage with 95.66% while Morva Rena in Panchmahal district has become the worst performing center with mere 15.43%.

Board Chairman A J Shah said that of the total 3,55,562 regular candidates appearing in the exam 2,60,503 ie 73.27% have passed.

792 have passed with A1 grade while 11768) with A 2 grade.

The overall results have improved by more than 4% in comparison to that of last year.

Shah said that the results would be distributed at various centers made for the purpose across the state from 1000 hrs to 1600 hrs today. The results have also been put on the board’s web site www.gseb.org for viewing online.

The pass percentage in various districts is as follows – AHMEDABAD CITY – 74.24, AHMEDABAD(RURAL) 77.36, AMRELI 69.96, KUTCHH 81.33, KHEDA 63.57, JAMNAGAR 80.37, JUNAGADH 55.32,DANG 62.05, PANCHMAHAL 45.82, BANASKANTHA 79.39, BHARUCH 71.51, BHAVNAGAR 81.04 ,MAHESANA 80.08, RAJKOT 79.59, VADODARA 73.09, VALSAD 67.31, SABARKANTHA 75.97, SURAT 81.67, SURENDRANAGAR 80.22, DAMAN & DNH 72.38, ANAND 70.03, PATAN 85.03, NAVSARI 79.14, DAHOD 51.53, PORBANDAR 74.53, NARMADA 71.99,GANDHINAGAR 80.10, TAPI 77.64,ARAVALLI 71.50, BOTAD 84.43, CHHOTA UDEPUR 46.74, DEVBHUMI DWARKA 79.19, GIR SOMNATH 78.66, MAHISAGAR 48.55, MORBI 84.11, DIV 84.09.
