Gandhinagar: A man was today injured by a crocodile while he was doing fishing in a local river close to a check-dam in Galiyawad road area in Talala range of Gir forest in Gir Somnath district of Gujarat. CCF DT Vasavada said that one Ali Mohammed Bhaliya (45), resident of Sidiwada village, sustainend injury in hand and forehead when the crocodile in the river/check-dam suddenly attacked him. He was sent to Junagadh civil hospital after primary treatment at Talala.

-A female leopard today died due to electrocution in Vandadhra village near Rabarika round of Tulsishyam range of the east Gir forest in Amreli district of Gujarat. CCF Junagadh DT Vasavada said that the around 8 year old beast died in the farm of one Nathabhai R Vagh. The leapord had died due to electric shock when it reached near a transformer mounted there.

-Rajyogini Sarla Didi, head of Brahmakumaris Gujarat, passed away at Ahmedabad on Thursday. Friends and devotees had her last darshan at Brahmakumaris Gujarat headquarters at Kankaria on Thursday evening. Her last rites would be performed at Mount Abu on Friday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted: Deeply pained by the demise of Rajyogini Sarla Didi Ji, associated with the Brahma Kumaris family. She embodied hardwork, service and compassion. I am fortunate to have always received her good wishes. My thoughts are with @brahmakumarisHQ family and her followers. -Non-performing assets (NPAs) in agriculture loans in Gujarat stood at Rs 5,690 cr in 2018-19, according to SLBC report. Bad loans went up by 43.25% against FY 2017-18, when NPAs in the sector stood at Rs 3,972 cr. Deposits in banks across Gujarat only grew marginally from Rs 6.62 lakh crore in 2017-18 to Rs 6.97 crore in 2018-19, according to latest SLBC report. Bankers, analysts say investors are moving towards alternate investment avenues. Growth in bank deposits in Gujarat has continued its downward trend and settled at an 11-year-low in 2018-19. In Gujarat, bank deposit growth settled at 5.26% in the financial year 2018-19, according to the latest SLBC report

-Surat Municipal Corporation will start bus service on a new BRTS route from Kosad to Sarthana on Friday. Seven buses will ply on this route during peak hours at a frequency of 10 minutes

-Incumbent Congress corporator of ward number 3 of Junagadh Municipal Corporation, Abbas Qureshi, who was wanted in a six-month-old firing case, was arrested in Rajkot on Wednesday.

-Prof Bimal Patel, former director of GNLU, appointed as officer on special duty (OSD), at Raksha Shakti University at Lavad. Prof Patel is also officiating director of Gujarat Maritime University.

-Gujarat-cadre IPS officer, RS Bhagora, an accused of dereliction in duty and fudging of evidence in the 2002 Bilkis Bano case, has been dismissed by the union home ministry.
