Presence of staff in over 150 educational institutions in Gujarat to be registered via mobile app

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has taken a decision to implement the online presence system across 109 educational and 48 technical education institutions (colleges and polytechnics) with effect from June 10. A mobile application for this initiative was launched today in a national conference on startups and innovations held at Bhat in Gandhinagar by education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama.

According to the details shared by the government the application will do following jobs:

– Presence of academic staff and students will be registered via mobile app. There’s a inbuilt feature in the app that presence is registered only if a person is in wifi range of respective institution.

– Details such as research done, new experiment in laboratory performed by teaching staff etc will also be noted in this mobile app.

– Details registered in this app will be available to principals, higher education commissioner, technical education secretaries, education minister and chief minister in real time via dashboard.

– Reports of daily, weekly, monthly, semester wise presence, works done, reports on job performed will be available to staffer through web-application.

– The system was tested on pilot basis in five colleges under KK Shastri Education Campus in Maninagar, including the Government MCA College, Government Arts College, Government Commerce College, Government Science College and Government Law College.
