Airtel says its 4G network now covers 15,000 towns and villages across Gujarat

Ahmedabad: Bharti Airtel (“Airtel”), today in a release said that its 4G network now covers over 15,000 towns and villages in Gujarat, offering customers high speed mobile broadband services. Airtel said it has over 11.5 million customers in Gujarat.

Airtel had recently announced a network expansion drive to further scale up its high speed data services across the region. In addition, following its acquisition of Telenor India and Tikona, Airtel has further boosted its 4G spectrum holding by adding 5 Mhz of spectrum in 1800 Mhz band and 20 Mhz of spectrum in 2300 Mhz band in Gujarat, the company said ading that this will further complement the rollout of new sites and fiber and enhance customer experience in the form of even better indoor and outdoor coverage.

The new #AirtelThanks program according to him is tiered in its offering – Silver, Gold and Platinum. Each tier opens a whole new set of benefits for Airtel customers. The benefits are powered by Airtel’s partnerships, which go from premium content brands like Amazon Prime, Netflix and Zee5 to Wynk music, device brands and many more.

Silver tier is an entry to the world of basic content – AirtelTV, Wynk. With Gold, customers get access to many add on telecom benefits, and great value access on premium content or financial services. With Platinum, customers will get VIP service from Airtel, premium content, e-books, device protection, and exclusive invites and priority access to events and sales.

The company further said this program is powered by a great app experience, which helps users choose, access and navigate through their benefits in a very simple and user-friendly manner. The app, which has been re-named “Airtel Thanks” uses strong data-science and segmentation algorithms to customize the user experiences, based on user interests and profiles.

Airtel said it offers a wide bouquet of mobile services (4G/3G/2G) in Gujarat that serves customers even in deep rural pockets backed by a wide distribution channel of over 40 thousand partners. Airtel’s network now covers approximately 85% of the population in Gujarat.
