Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani released books on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his midterm appraisal written by noted journalist Uday Mahurkar here today.

New Delhi: After the Hindi version, Oxford University Press has launched online dictionaries in Tamil and Gujarati as part of its special focus on Indian languages. The Oxford Global Languages (OGL) initiative began in September 2015 with an aim to build dictionaries and lexicographical resources for around 100 of the world's languages and to make them available online. One of the most popular Gujarati authors of present time, veteran humor writer Vinod Bhatt(79) has resigned from the 'Margdarshak Mandal' of Gujarat govt arm 'Gujarat Sahitya Academy. Bhatt is leaving the academy when its present chief and former IAS officer Bhagyesh Jha's term has ended on 7th of April. Ahmedabad: As many as 5 lakh visitors visited Amdavad National Book Fair during 1-7 May this year, said Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) in a note released here.
Initiated by then Chief Minister Narendra Modi, the Amdavad National Book Fair is organized every year during 1-7 May. The latest edition which concluded today was 6th in series.

Ahmedabad: The body of legendary Gujarati humour writer Tarak Mehta will be donated to the NHL Municipal Medical College of Ahmedabad for study regarding human anatomy as per his wish.
His family doctor, who declared him dead this morning, said that Tarakbhai, who had become very week owing to age related illnesses, died seemingly of heart attack. He was ill for quite some time and for the past 3 days he had stopped taking solid food.
