For media persons in Vadodara, it was a very interesting brief session with Dr Subramanian Swamy. Though it was a holiday on 26 January, scribes were overwhelmingly present to meet Dr. Swamy and to ask this important man couple of questions. Here are two-three questions that are related to Gujarat. We are putting them here to ensure that like what happened in past, no Gujarat based media house knowingly or unknowingly misinterpret what Swamy said in reference to any matter that is linked to Narendra Modi.

Q:What is your take on Nitn Gadkari’s recent statement that Modi has potential to become the Prime Minister of India?

Dr. Swamy: Who can not be? You people ask such question and then bring them in manipulating way. If you ask me whether Nitin Gadkari is capable, I would say yes he also is capable, you can be, anyone can be. You need to come out of the mentality that only someone from Nehru family can be the Prime Minister. You people should come out of that impression. In this country all are capable.

Q:About potential that Modi has for the post of PM?

Dr Swamy: About potential, well it’s a matter of destiny, and you should ask this to the God or to some real swamy, I am just an ordinary swamy. I know Dr Manmohan Singh for last 40 years but I never thought he would become Prime Minister. I never thought Dev Gauda would become Prime Minister. I had seen IK Gujral in India International Centre having a coffee, I never thought he would become the PM, so if such people become Prime Minister, how can one say who would become the PM and who would not!

Q: What’s your take on Gujarat Lokayukta issue?

Dr.Swamy:There could be no problem if Lokayukta was an institution. But the way they have made it is like that the Lokayukta would be Congress’s man. And they are adamant for making such person a Lokayukta. Modi correctly challenged it in High Court, and now the matter is in Supreme Court. Let’s see what happens in Supreme Court. Either Lokayukta or Lokpal, it’s success depends on who would sit on that post. Here Congress is adamant on particular name and Governor office was misused and they made him to office, now when High Court has said it’s right, we would see what Supreme Court says on this.

In Yugaantar youth meet, held at MS University in Vadodara, Gujarat, Dr. Subramanian Swamy delivered a 58-minute long speech and also replied questions asked by the students on various subjects like his DNA article, decentralization and cluster development, reservation system among others. Dr. Subramanian Swamy had a brief talk with media persons in Vadodara on Thursday afternoon before he gave a speech in Yugaantar function which was held at the MS University here. Shri Swamy’s candid replies are presented briefly in text below. For full replies watch the video presented above. -General VK Singh issue is thanks to Quatrachi and Sonia. When they came to realize that VK Singh would will become commander Chief and would stay on this post for longer time that the person they wanted to bring on this post would retire before that, they created this issue. Our commander in chief is being harassed because he is honest. Sonia Gandhi has habit of make earning through every defense contract. This has started since Bofors scam. Congress is involve in spoiling our all important institutions.

-On 4 February, the court will decide whether I have presented such evidences that Chidambaram can be made an accused. This will be followed by his trial and then sentence. As he is serving on an important post, he can influence the witnesses, and therefore like Raja hw will surely go to jail, if court accepts my point, and given the fact that I have solid proof, he will face jail.

-DMK will celebrate if Chidambaram is fixed. Chidambaram’s boss is Manmohan Singh. His rehnuma(guide) is Vish Kanya, Tadaka alias Sonia Gandhi.

-Vadra has major share in a telecom company so in 2G scam, I will name Vadra before Sonia.

-Difference between me and Anna Hazare is only that, I can catch thieves even under present laws, so what if with some delay, while Annaji wants new law. He believes that only after Janlokpal , we can jail those corrupt people. I don’t have any problem with new law, but I believe that until a new law comes, we can not sit idle.

-I am not Congress’s enemy, I am enemy of Sonia Gandhi. I have good friends in Congress even today.

Gujarat Congress gets new President of women’s cell

Gujarat Congress today got a new President for its women’s cell in Mrs Sonal Patel Dutta who took charge in presence of Gujarat Congress President Arjun Modhwadia and other leaders at Gujarat Congress head quarter in Ahmedabad.

ATM security guard held for duping a senior citizen customer

Police today nabbed one Dalpat Solanki, security guard of Chandkheda area based State Bank of India’s ATM center for duping an old man Vinodbhai.

Vinodbhai, an old person couldn’t operate ATM own his own. Dalpat offered him help. In the name of helping Vinodbhai, Dalpat actully took Vinodbhai’s card and gave him a discarded card. Vinodbhai was not knowing this as he hardly cared for what was written on the card.

Recently when Vinodbhai came to ATM center and couldn’t operate it, he met the manager. The manager told him that his card was discarded and dead. When manager investigated, he came to know that Rs 93,000 were withrawn from Vinodbhai’s account without his knowledge. When police was contacted and CCTV footage was checked, police found that it was security man Dalpat Chauhan who had taken money from Vinodbhai’s account through operating Vinodbhai’s card.

Rs 40,000 cash, two mobile phones worth Rs 20,000, and Rs 30,000 which Dalpat had diposited in his own account from Vinodbhai’s account were recovered by police.

TV sets on roads, people blame high voltage responsible

A group of local people today afternoon gathered in Rajkot’s Raiyadhar area to protest high voltage power supply from Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited(PGVCL) which damaged their Television sets, refrigerators, mobile phones and other electronics/electrical appliances. Locals came out in street demonstrating their damaged TV set thanks to sudden high voltage supply. One Ajitbhai told media persons that this is a locality of poor people and around 150 houses are affected due to high voltage. Police lathicharged the people who were sitting on road with their TV sets.

One more HIV affected child dead in Junagadh

One more HIV affected thalassemia patient child died today in Junagadh. This is second death of a child, who is believed to be a victim of alleged infected transfusion of HIV affected blood. Parents of more 21 such children are now worrying about health of their children. Junagadh’s Mayor met parents of victim child and demanded suspension of doctors of local government hospital responsible for HIV affected blood transfusion.

Partial relief to sealed party plots

Gujarat High Court today gave partial relief to sealed party plots of Ahmedabad and asked the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation to open the seal of the party plots if they give undertaking that as per the Supreme Court order they will give away prescribed land and will not do construction there till then. Road size and plot size are mentioned in the order.

It was just another film promotion, and just another interaction of bollywood stars with the journalists in Ahmedabad.

The star was Shahrukh Khan who was looking old and odd with his getup of pony tail and wrinkles.

When asked about Lokpal, Shahrukh put aside the question by saying that he would better talk about Donpal. This was in reference to his forthcoming film Don – 2. Shahrukh’s Ahmedabad tour was in fact to promote Don – 2.

So in this video above, you can watch Radio Mirchi’s poor RJ who can’t speak two lines correctly in Gujarati. You can watch the Producer of Don telling that the film is going to be dubbed in Tamil and Telugu, but not in Gujarati. When a journalist ask some question, Shahrukh reacts ‘Is aadmi ko press conference khatam hone se pehle hi utha lo.’ A girl whose name is Shital asks Shahrukh to permit her for photo shoot with him as today is her birthday. When asked about black money, Shahrukh saying, “I am as patriotic as you but when entertainment people enter into some serious issue, the seriousness of that issue affects adversely.”

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi while commenting on Prime Minister’s speech at National Development Council meet said, “why the PM did not mention the issue of price rise in his speech?”

Modi talked about how he told the PM that as the Congress had demanded votes in the name of ‘Aam aadmi’, it seems ‘Aam aurat’ who suffers most from price hikes has been forgotten.

Former Gujarat Chief Minister and Congress leader Shankersinh Vaghela today in a TV interview promised cheaper petrol, stringent law for bovine protection, clearing backlog of pending power connection for farmers if Congress comes to power in 2012 Gujarat assembly election.

In a talk with Etv Gujarati, Shri Vaghela said, “we have already started homework for selecting Congress candidates and manifesto for 2012 Gujarat assembly election. We are planing to declare a list of candidates and manifesto in advance.”

Vaghela further said, “while releasing our manifesto in advance, we don’t fear that government would pick some points from that document to implement them before the election. We would welcome if government do so. We would then say that why they didn’t do it during earlier years of their regime. We will take credit.”

Giving example of what his party intends to promise, Vaghela said: “we would provide cheaper petrol in Gujarat by removing VAT on petrol. Common man should be given relief from VAT on Petrol, instead we should add burden to rich industrialists. ”

“Similarly we will bring stringent law for cow/buffalo protection. Any vehicle and person involved in bovine trafficking meant for slaughter will stay in jail for a year and his vehicle used in illegal trafficking will also remain seized for a year long time,” Vaghela said.

Vaghela added that backlog of four lakh pending applications for new power connection in the state in farm sector would be cleared if Congress comes to power.

Vaghela said as per his estimate, state assembly election could come six-month before schedule. He said he would start election campaign well in advance on the first day of Navratri from Kutch’s ‘Mata no madh’ after performing puja at goddess Ashapura’s mandir there. He said he would later address a public rally at Bhuj, the headquarter of Kutch district.

Vaghela in his interview couldn’t stop saying ‘he’ would do this and would do that if Congress comes to power. This indicated that he is ambitious to become Chief Minister if Congress comes to power.

When asked about his retirement plan, Vaghela said, he would retire only after removal of BJP from power in Gujarat, if people wish for that.
