Mumbai: Budget carrier IndiGo cancelled as many as 47 flights on Tuesday while Go Air cancelled 18 flights after aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) grounded eight IndiGo A320Neo and three GoAir aircraft with faulty Pratt & Whitney engines.
The flights that have been cancelled are from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Patna, Srinagar, Bhubaneswar, Amritsar, Srinagar and Guwahati, among others, the airline informed on its website.

A Lucknow bound flight of private airliner Indigo with 186 passengers on board had to make emergency landing at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International airport here today after some technical snag in its second engine.
Airport Director Manoj Gangal said that flight number 6E244 of Indigo with Airbus 320 and 186 passengers on board took off from Ahmedabad at 0921 am.

Ahmedabad: Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel airport's international terminal has got two additional aero bridges. The airport has now total 8 aero bridges, four each in the domestic and the international terminals. New aero bridges can connect to Airbus A320 family aircraft and can be adjusted for the Boeing 747 series of planes. Rs 4.40 crore aero bridges are developed with Make in India element.

The domestic flight operations at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International airport will see a major rescheduling for around one and a half months from tomorrow owing to the start of the second phase of runway resurfacing work.

Surat: A 30-minute free wifi internet access service has been launched at Surat airport in Gujarat. District collector Mahendra Patel launched this service on Friday. A private company Airlink has erected the facility to offer free wifi upto 30 minutes and chargeable service after that. Gandhinagar: Tourism department of Gujarat has identified 12 places for seaplane operations in Gujarat that include Sabarmati riverfront, Dharoi dam, Sardar Sarovar dam, Somnath, Bet Dwarka, Saputara, Gandhinagar, Aaji dam in Rajkot and Mandvi.
Seaplane operations are more affordable compared to conventional aircraft because runway and airport like gigantic infrastructure would not be needed, just a small jetty on both ends will be enough.

Ahmedabad: Repair and maintenance work of runaway at Sardar Patel International Airport here will commence later this month. The task will be taken up in two phases. The first phase will start from next Friday and continue till February 28.
