Former President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was on a one-day visit to Gujarat. Dr. Kalam’s visit was personal in nature and was focused on Gujarat’s Solar power initiatives.
Dr.Kalam arrived in Ahmedabad in the afternoon and straightaway boarded a helicopter to visit Charanka solar power farm in north Gujarat’s Patan district. After arriving at Charanka he visited the solar park and exchanged ideas with engineers and higher officials.

Bollywood star Ajay Devgam called on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today in Gandhinagar.
Devgan's visit was purely for business purposes.

Usually the Gujarat unit of Congress party tends to criticize most of the initiatives of the Gujarat government.
But the opposition party was totally silent on, before and after the Charanka solar park opening function this week.
However, two days after Chief Minister Narendra Modi opened the 600 MW solar power plants at Charanka in north Gujarat, we have found something that has been heard from the Congress camp on Charanka solar park initiative.
