JUnagadh: 1044 participants will take part in 33rd state level Girnar ascending descending competition which is going to be held on January 7. The competition will be organized jointly by Junagadh district administration and Yuval Seva Sanskrutik Pravruttio department of Government of Gujarat. Junagadh: Construction work for Girnar ropeway project is likely to kick off by upcoming August/September. The construction work will take one-year period. If everything goes as per schedule, the ropeway will be functional next year.

Junagadh: A helicopter service from the base of famous Girnar mountain in Junagadh district of Gujarat to the Ambaji temple situated at a height of around 3000 ft, which otherwise is reached by around 5000 steps on foot by the devotees, is likely to start in the near future.
Earlier in 2006 one such chopper service was started by a private company of Delhi but was closed down in a few months owing to lack of passengers.

Junagadh: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani is likely to launch the works for Girnar ropeway project during his Junagadh visit on November 9.
Then Chief Minister Modi had performed ground breaking for this project in year 2007. However due to lack of permissions from various departments of centre, the project couldn't kick off.

Junagadh: Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation(GSRTC) will from Monday start operating extra buses for Girnar Parikrama through its Junagadh division. GSRTC has planned special operation of 150 extra buses for Parikrama pilgrims.
Annual Parikrama around Girnar hill will start this year on 11 November and continue till 14th. To make the walk around Girnar hill smoother, the administration has temporarily diverted water flowing above Nalpani Ghodi bridge.

36 km annual Girnar Lili Parikrama will begin at midnight this weekend with a round of fire in air as per tradition.
Five days long parikrama will have over three halts in forest. 10 government departments are involved in its preparations.
