Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister held a meeting of NAFED, GUJCOMASOL and GUJCOT at his residence in Gandhinagar and asked them to clear the godowns that are occupied with over 9 lakh tonne groundnut within one month.

Over 10 lakh kg of ground-nut worth around Rs 4 crore has been gutted in a major fire that broke-out in a go-down of Gujarat State Warehousing Corporation in Shapar-Veraval of Kotda Sanghani taluka in Rajkot district.

Gandhinagar: The Government of India has released Rs 628 crore grant for farmers who sold groundnut on minimum support price(MSP) across 254 centres in Gujarat.
According to a statement issued by the State government, the farmers will get payment in their bank accounts in next two-three days.
According to release, the Centre has also given nod for 90,000 mt Raydo and 80,000 mt Chana purchase on MSP in Gujarat.

After purchase of over 8 lakh tonnes of groundnut from frames in Gujarat at Minimum Support Price, the government through its agency NAFED (via five Gujarat bodies) would again start such procurement of one more lakh tonne of groundnut from March 5.
