Surat: A youth today died of drowning while two others were somehow rescued from sea near Suvali beach in Surat.
Police said that the deceased has been identified as one Akash Shukla, who had arrived at the beach in Hazira suburb of Surat where beach festival is going on.
He along with two others were bathing in the sea when suddenly they were carried away by a strong current. While the other two were saved by locals, Akash died due to drowning.

Gandhinagar: As many as 2.10 lakh tourists participated in the Rann Utsav in year 2016-17, said the government in reply to a question in the Gujarat Assembly.

Gandhinagar: Tourism department of Gujarat has identified 12 places for seaplane operations in Gujarat that include Sabarmati riverfront, Dharoi dam, Sardar Sarovar dam, Somnath, Bet Dwarka, Saputara, Gandhinagar, Aaji dam in Rajkot and Mandvi.
Seaplane operations are more affordable compared to conventional aircraft because runway and airport like gigantic infrastructure would not be needed, just a small jetty on both ends will be enough.

Porbandar:Foreign passenger vessel MV Silver Spirit (Built 2009) with total 367 crew and total 471 Passenger arrived at Gujarat Maritime Board Jetty on Porbandar Port yesterday. Her last port of call was Mumbai. The ship departed to next port of call Muscat (Oman) in the evening. The foreign tourists mainly from America and Britain visited Mahatma Gandhi's birth place Kirti Mandir in Porbandar during the afternoon.

Bhuj: During November - 2017 to 6 January 2018, 1.48 lakh visitors visited Kutch Rann Utsav. Last year in 2016-17 edition of Rann Utsav, 1,78,143 had visited Rann Utsav.
