Well known litterateur Varsha Adalaja has become new president of Gujarati Sahitya Parishad. As per the rule, only one of the two Vice Presidents can become President of Gujarati Sahitya Parishad. Eminent Gujarati critic, writer and president of Gujarati Sahitya Parishad Bholabhai Patel today died here at the age of 79 after a prolonged illness.
A recipient of Padma Bhushan award, Patel was known for his travelouges and his book 'Vidisha' had earned him accolades.

On 4th of January, on the occasion of World Brail Day, Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi will launch a monthly Braille magazine 'Balshrusti' for blind children in Ahmedabad.
The Chief Minister will also launch a book 'Darshan' which is a collection of memoirs of 'Vanche Gujarat.'
The event has been organized by department of Education, Government of Gujarat at Gujarati Sahitya Parishad in Amdavad.

Gujarat Sahitya Parishad's convention today kicked off in Junagadh in presence of Shri Morari Bapu.
In inaugural function when Gujarati song was presented by artists on the stage, Shri Morari Bapu started Garba. Bapu was joined by Gujarati author Raghuvir Chaudhary, poet Shri Madhav Ramanuj among others. A short video clip presented above covers this moment.
