Surat: Ghogha - Hazira ( Bhavnagar - Surat ) Ro-Ro (roll-on, roll-off) ferry service is likely to be launched on December 9 this year. Industrially developed Hazira is 20 km away from Surat. It has almost become a part of Surat. Ro-Ro ferry service will curtail travel time between Ghogha and Hazira from 10 hours at present to little over 3 hours, or travel distance from 360 km (Surat - Bhavnagar) to 67 nautical miles.

Ghogha (Gujarat): CM Vijay Rupani today said that Ghogha, from where India's largest Ro-pax ferry service started today, the passenger based Ro-Ro service would also start for all important port of Hazira in Surat by December this year.

New Delhi: The government today gave green signal to Reliance Industries Ltd for expansion of its petrochemical complex in Gujarat, entailing investment of Rs 2,100 crore.
Near Hazira in Surat district, the complex comprises naphtha cracker, feeding downstream petrochemical, fibre intermediates and polyester plants.

Surat: Essar Power Hazira Ltd, a subsidiary of Essar Power Ltd, today announced commissioning of the second unit of its 2x135 MW power project in Hazira in South Gujarat.
The company said it has completed the task in a record 53 days—from IBR Hydrotest to final synchronisation— and it is among the swiftest commissioning for a unit of this size. The first unit was commissioned in July last year.
