Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government gave employment to 12,869 persons in the government sector in last two years. More than seven lakh youths got employment, most of them in private sector. Narmada district stood at top in providing most government jobs which comes to 2,576. The total number of unemployed (educated and semi-educated) in the state stood at around 5,37,562. Bharuch: As many as 9,000 unemployed youth participated in ITI Employment Fair organized at GNFC stadium in Bharuch on Wednesday. Of them 6,700 were confirmed for recruitment across 107 industrial units.
Minister of State in Centre, Santoshkumar said Gujarat has 287 ITI in which 50 are for women. Minister in the State government Dilip Thakor said the government is willing to ensure that 85% of total jobs in industries are given to local candidates with Gujarat domicile only.

Gandhinagar: Gujarat government on Thursday claimed its Mega Job Fair drive has seen employment of 66,767 youths against the target of 50,000. This figure excludes the employment to be offered at last three Mega Job Fairs which are to be held at Rajkot, Bhavnagar and Godhra today.

Ahmedabad: A mega job fair was organized today jointly by district administrations of Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Sabarkantha and Arvalli. More than 300 companies participated in this mega job fair where primary selection of over 10,000 candidates took place while 1,100 were selected as apprentice.
Companies like Tech-Mahindra, Ford, Maruti, Yureca Forbes, Arvind Mills, Zydus Cadila, Anup Industries etc selected the candidates in large number.

New Delhi: In good news for successful candidates of government jobs, the Centre has decided not to withhold appointments letters for want of character and antecedent checks and said it would rely on their self- declaration.
However, those candidates who furnish wrong information will face criminal and legal action.

Vadodara:Gujarat Government was going to recruit 17,500 candidates for the post of police constable soon, a senior official said here. The process would start within a week.
