Gandhinagar: Education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said there has been inrease worth Rs 3.75 crore in Khadi sell thanks to the government decision to make Khadi dress mandatory for education department officials and staff every Tuesday.
Chudasama said Khadi is not just a piece of textile but it is a tool for employment of backward and poor people in society.

Ahmedabad: Speaking in Ahmedabad today the chairman of Khadi and Village Industries Commission Shri VK Saxena said Rs 7 crore worth of Khadi has been sold in last two months due to Oil and Natural Gas Corporation(ONGC)'s decision to introduce Khadi in uniform.

A new sartorial style could be embraced by all employees of Rajasthan Khadi and Gramodyog Board starting May 1 if Board Chairman Shambhu Dayal Badgujar has his way.

Khadi, which has seen a rise in its sales since Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal for its greater use last year, would now have Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan as its brand ambassador.

Sale of khadi products have increased by over 60 per cent after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to buy atleast one khadi garment, MSME Minister Kalraj Mishra said today.
