A stray wild leopard today injured 3 villagers in Saiyadpura village of Bhajej taluka in Anand district of central Gujarat.
Forest official J R Patel said that the leopard which had strayed from some forest in central Gujarat entered a field in the village and attacked 3 people who were working in the fields there.
Villagers had tried to attack the beast but the forest team caged the beast and it was sent to a veterinary hospital for treatment.

Leopards from Gir forest killed two elderly women in Junagahd district of Gujarat last night.

As many as 70 leopards are captured in cage by the forest department in the areas of Junagadh/Dhari in last one month.
Only in Veraval belt, 32 leopards are captured. From Visavdar area of Junagadh district, another 12 leopards are locked in cage while in Talala belt, 15 leopards are caged.
As many as 60 leopards are caged for life in Junagadh's Sakkarbag zoo while 6 are locked at Jasadhar.
