Ahmedabad: The withdrawal of South West Monsoon from Gujarat finally started today after a delay of over 11 days from normal date of September 15 and a total of 110.66% rain.
The monsoon had touched Gujarat on June 12 this year almost 3 days before normal date of June 15.
During the monsoon the state saw some spells of extremely heavy downpours which even caused devastating floods.

Palanpur: Two months after flood in Banaskantha district of North Gujarat, over 300 MCFT water logging is uncleared.
The state administration has installed 150 submersible pumps to flush out the water.
Post-flood ther was 636 mcft water logging in low lying areas of Tharad and Vav belts. Of this about half water has been flushed out and released to Narmada canal through pumps.
The situation is worst in Nagla, Khanpur and Dod villages.

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) has suspended seven engineers based on a primary report of Vigilance department over the poor condition of roads. The detailed departmental inquiry will take place now.Those suspended are deputy city engineer Manoj Solanki and six assistant engineers Hiren Barot, Atul Patel, Navin Patel, Krunal Gajjar, Nikunj Adesara and Bhavin Patel.

Ahmedabad: Met department has issued heavy rain warning for isolated places in coastal Saurashtra and neighbouring union territory of Diu in next 24 hours even as light to heavy rain lashed some places across Gujarat today.

Ahmedabad: The met today modified its heavy rain warning saying that there might be some spell of heavy rain tonight but it lifted completely the earlier such warning for September 14 (tomorrow) and 15.
The met bulletin today said that rainfall occurred at a few places over Gujarat region today including light rain in Ahmedabad where the weather today was mostly cloudy and windy. Moderate rain/thundershowers have been predicted during the night for Ahmedabad also.

Ahmedabad: Met department today issued another heavy rain warning for Gujarat for September 14 and 15.
Ahmedabd IMD center Director Jayanta Sarkar said that the spell of heavy rain mostly over isolated places across South Gujarat and adjoining union territory of Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli would be caused by a sytem developing over South West Madhya Pradesh.
However the spell of heavy rain at the fag end of monsoon was not likely to be a severe one.
