Surat: Following the death of five laborers in a blast in the unit Anupam Rasayan in Sachin GIDC. Gujarat Pollution control board has issued a closure notice to Anupam Rasayan after National Green Tribunal's (NGT) suo-motu proceedings. Construction site contractor held for noise pollution in Vadodara

Vadodara: The Bhayli taluka police of Vadodara have arrested a contractor after the granite cutting machine he was using in the residential area was found to be making a noise of 91.2 Decibels as recorded by the Noise Level Monitoring Device. The home department has procured the device following orders issued by the National Green Tribunal. The device, worth approximately half a crore rupees, has been allotted to the Vadodara police. NGT orders closure of gasifiers plants of ceramic units in Morbi

Morbi: National Green Tribunal (NGT) has ordered closure of industrial units in Morbi that are operated using coal gasifiers. NGT has asked Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) to implement its order. There are around 800 ceramic units in Morbi, of which 550 operate using coal gasifiers while over 50 units are under construction.
