Gandhinagar: Environment and Forest minister Ganpat Vasava today said Gujarat will have three new safari parks. He said Mandvi in Surat district will have a 50 hectare safari while the Dangs will have 32 hectare leopard safari park.

New Delhi: Government of India is satisfied with the progress of the Project Tiger and has released Rs 966 crore total to the States in the last four years as funding assistance. India has 70% of the global tiger population which increased from 1411 in 2006 to 2226 in 2014. The increase is because of technical financial inputs being provided under the project ‘Save Tiger’. Bhopal:As many as 13 tigers have died in the past one year due to poisoning and electrocution, besides other reasons in two national parks of Madhya Pradesh.

New Delhi: Union Environment Minister Anil Madhav Dave today expressed hope that India, home to 70 per cent of world's tiger population, would be able to double the number of wild cats by 2022 through "conservation and care".
"India has 2,226 tigers spread out in over 17 states and 49 sanctuaries across the country," Dave said.
