Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today inaugurated a wind power blade manufacturing plant of wind turbine manufacturer Vestas at Bavla in Ahmedabad. Vestas, a Denmark-based firm is the world’s largest wind turbine maker. Vestas stepped in India in 1989, it was among the earlier entrants here. Gandhinagar: Gujarat government today announced wind power policy 2016 for the period of next five years. According to energy minister Saurabh Patel, electricity generated through wind power will be exempted from electricity duty. Mumbai Wind energy solutions provider Suzlon Group today said it has bagged an order for development of 197.40 MW wind power project from a leading private sector power utility in Gujarat. Mumbai Energy solutions provider Inox Wind has bagged 100 MW wind power project order from Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL) at Rojmal, Gujarat. The order is TPREL's fourth project with Inox Wind taking the cumulative orders placed with the energy solutions provider to over 300 MW, Inox Wind said in a statement today. New Delhi Oil India, the nation's second largest state-owned oil explorer, today said it has commissioned a 54 MW wind energy project in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Saddled between the two states, the project is split between a 16 MW capacity plant at Patan in Gujarat and a 38 MW at Chandgarh in Madhya Pradesh, the company said in a statement.
