Gujarat to celebrate Diwali twice this year: Narendra Modi greets people on Gujarati new year day (Videos)

As the morning of Gujarat’s new year dawned, Gujarat Chief Minsiter Shri Narendra Modi visited Ahmedabad’s Bhadrakali mandir where in a talk with the media persons he said the people of Gujarat would celebrate another Diwali this year on 20th December.
“Gujarat kicks off its new year on the next day after Diwali. Today is new year’s day in Gujarat and I covey my wishes for Diwali and new year’s day to my dear brothers and sisters across the world,” Shri Modi said.
“Gujarat will celebrate two Diwalis this year. One is which we are celebrating today, while another will be an occasion of Diwali of democracy on 20th December (the Gujarat election result day). And Gujarat will celebrate that Diwali as a festival of democracy. Gujarat is presently neck-deep in the festival of elections and democracy. At such time 20th December will turn out to be a joyful festival of democracy with great excitement ,” he further said.
