Diwali vacation ends in Gujarat, schools, colleges reopen, diamond workers back to cities

A 21-day long Diwali vacation has ended on Sunday,and all school, colleges in Gujarat are going to open again today. There are 48,000 schools in Gujarat. The adiwali vacation had started on 12 November. Third semester students of Gujarat University will straight away sit in exams on the opening day today.
Lakhs of diamond artisans are back to Surat and Ahmedabad as the Diwali vacation has ended.
Most of the diamond workers in the markets of Surat and Ahmedabad come from the villages of Saurashtra, mostly Amreli, Bhavnagar and Junagadh districts.
As the Diwali vacation ended on Sunday, majority of them returned to Surat and Ahmedabad with their family.
