Ahmedabad based Zafar Sareshwala, CEO of Parsoli Corporation Ltd continues to become bridge between Modi and Muslims.
Modi today inaugurated a Muslims business conclave at Sabarmati river front in Ahmedabad organized by Sareshwala and others.
The ‘Ummat Business Conclave’ is three-day event where total 80 companies from all over India and 10 companies from Dubai have set up their stalls.
In his Hindi speech Modi spoke about how kite maker are benefited by Gujarat government’s promotion efforts. Modi gave example of a Muslim farmer of Banaskantha, a poor Muslim innovator of Ahmedabad who has made lock that can be opened with 24 keys. Modi spoke about how Chhipa community members converted their traditional river-side textile activities into textile factories.
He said every person has capacity and ability, the need is to provide them opportunity. Modi said his party wants power for empowerment.
Modi asked Dubai based developer present in the event to set up projects in Gujarat too.
Modi took a round of the exhibition and had photo shoot with BMW bike and car.
The conclave is supported by the state government arm indextb. It has been considered as one of the pre-Vibrant Gujarat summit-2015 events. The conclave is expected to attract nearly one lakh visitors, mainly Muslims. The event’s theme is ‘Business with Harmony’. It has been organized over 12,000 square metre venue.
Sareshwala said the Muslims have progressed fast economically. Parsoli Motors, part of the flagship Parsoli Corporation, alone sold 60 BMW vehicles to Muslims in 2013 in Gujarat, which demonstrates their growing financial clout.
After the conclave, Sareshwala plans to form a ‘Muslim Business Association’.
Tamir construction group CEO Federico Tauber remained present in the event. Tamir’s 1358 ft tall tower in Dubai has been placed in Guinness book of records, as it is considered the tallest residential tower in the world. Dubai based businessman Amit Sasa also attended the event.
