Age bar for beneficiaries of MAA Vatsalya Yojana removed

Gujarat government today announced removal of age bar for gents in ‘Mukhyamantri Amrutam Maa Vatsalya Yojana’ scheme for free treatment upto Rs. 2 lakh. Earlier there was age bar of 21 years for gents in this scheme. Males above 21 years of age were excluded from the scheme.The scheme is only for those whose annual income is below Rs. 1.20 lakh. Five members of family get free medical treatment upto Rs. 2 lakh in serious diseases like heart, kidney, cancer etc.
Meanwhile Congress MLA Gyasuddin Sheikh thanked the government for removal of age bar for gents in this scheme. He said he was demanding same repeatedly, and finally the government has removed the age bar. He said, “even if I continue to be MLA in future or not, I will have satisfaction that I became medium for one good decision that is going to give away great benefit to low income people.”
